Physical product design guidelines

We've collaborated with various groups within Oxford Instruments,

which positioned us perfectly to help them establish a cohesive set of brand guidelines or DNA framework for their diverse products

Given the extensive array of life science items Oxford Instruments offers—from compact high-end cameras to expansive integrated room solutions—it was crucial to formulate a design aesthetic that ensured a unified appearance across all these offerings.

The design language needed to be adaptable to serve different markets and scales effectively. The guideline document detailed every aspect that contributes to a product’s identity, including form, details, assembly, branding applications, and CMF, to name a few.

This design guidelines document will evolve as a living resource that grows over time, proving essential for any company engaged in global markets seeking a consistent visual identity that aligns with their brand and core values.

“CWD did an exceptional job of capturing a visual style which is applicable to our broad portfolio of products, which come in a diverse range of sizes and form factors. Visualisations of our design cues in various settings along with physical colour and texture swatches enable us to take artistic licence on new product styling whilst staying tightly on brand.”
